“Let me take you back on a journey to the 1970s when I was in high school. You think you have it good now with all the dispensaries, well let me tell you, pot was better then. Nonsense you say, so many strains are creeping on 20% THC, so much technology. Well, my friends, THC is important, but the flavor of pot is every bit as important as the high.
In the 1970’s we had skunk weed. You say, “I’ve had skunk weed, you old fool.” But I say nay-nay, no you have not. How do I know this? Because those 1970’s skunk strains were inherent only to the Northern California region around Chico, Ca. And the DEA raided and killed those strains. I knew the growers. The 1970’s purple skunk strain of weed was so powerful; you could not conceal it. You could have it in two Zip Locks and it still stunk up the room. We had to store it in Sharps containers.
There were other unique brands too. Thai sticks, honey oil (which has been mastered now), weed from Maui called Maui Wowie, that had a unique lime flavor due to the high alkaloid soil. Then there was Humbolt County Thunderduck that had something no weed has now—-EXPANSION. You’d toke a small hit and then try not to cough your lungs out. And then there was Afghani hash.
Afghani Hash is Something Special
We had friends go into the military and would bring back the finest Afghani hash. Once you tasted it, you would never forget its intoxicating mysterious flavor. As soon as you taste it you want more. Then the high. That smooth contemplative high that gets one really pondering the universe. And with that hash, that flavor would reside in your palette for a long while, so pleasurable.
I haven’t tasted any of those things since they went away in the early ’80s, and trust me, I wish I could share them with you so you could know what I know, that pot, in general, has become a hybrid hodgepodge of albeit some great strains, but I can’t help to think constructed strains.
Then something unbelievable happened. I found OMG Afghani Hash. Of course, being a pessimist now, because my hopes are always shattered, I figured, yeah right, Afghani hash, yeah yeah. Then I tried it. Immediately I am drawn back to 1979. The taste, the high, the lasting flavor…the aroma. I can’t believe it. They nailed it! I can’t tell you how happy I am to find this hash, and you will be too. It’s perfect.”
